Last week, FreeThink and Lhasa Limited co-sponsored the annual Science of Stability (SOS) Conference! Leading scientists and industry experts gathered in Philadelphia to hear insightful presentations and engage in lively discussions on:

✅ Forced degradation, with a particular focus on mass balance
✅ Techniques for accelerated stability testing
✅ N-nitrosamines as a particular stability challenge
✅ The current state of the regulatory field with respect to stability

The Helen Williams Memorial Presentation—a title given annually to one SOS talk that embodies the vision and enthusiasm of the late Helen Williams—was awarded to John Campbell for his presentation, “Assessing mass balance in stress testing (forced degradation) studies.” This and all other presentations from SOS are available to view online here: https://www.stabilityconference.com/pastevents/. We want to extend our gratitude to all the speakers who gave full presentations and Rapid Fire sessions—we couldn’t do this without you!

FreeThink is hosting a second conference on 6-7 October in Research Triangle Park, Durham, North Carolina. This event, SOS BIO, will focus on mechanistic aspects for critical quality changes during shelf life and methodologies for advanced accelerated stability modeling for mAbs, peptides, ADCs, and oligonucleotides.
