FORMULATION SCIENTIST/ENGINEER

FreeThink conducts laboratory studies for domestic and international clients in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and consumer products industries and develops its own innovative technologies. Our scientists work in a fast-paced environment on a wide variety of projects including mechanistic and scientific investigations, stability-indicating method development, rapid shelf life determinations based on FreeThink’s ASAPprime® software, and rapid formulation using FreeThink’s ADAP™ process, including FreeThink’s proprietary controlled release drug delivery technology, OzmoCAP®.
FreeThink is seeking a full-time Formulation Scientist/Engineer to join its Engineering and Formulation Sciences group in Branford, CT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a hands-on laboratory scientist/engineer participating in customer formulation development projects (primarily pharmaceutical) and in the development of new drug development and drug delivery technologies
- Ensuring work is performed in compliance with standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices
- Documenting laboratory work in a clear, detailed, and organized manner
- Compiling and analyzing results using spreadsheet and statistical analysis programs
- Developing and maintaining technical expertise through continuing professional education and training
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, material science, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum of two years of formulation experience in pharmaceutical or aligned industry, ideally including granulation, tableting, and coating
- Ability to handle multiple projects while adhering to timelines
- Ability to solve problems creatively
- Possessing effective written and oral communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis for any employer without the need for sponsorship
