Last week, a crew of FreeThinkers visited nearby Hammonasset Beach State Park to clean up litter on the beach and nearby trails. As a natural area worthy of millions of visitors annually, Hammonasset Beach State Park is appreciated as a year-round gem for those in the community. The FreeThink outing, a volunteer event in partnership with The Friends of Hammonasset, encouraged everyone to stroll about the park with gloves and trash bags, combing the area for refuse. Happy to lend a hand, the FreeThink cleanup crew were rewarded for their efforts with an afternoon stroll on the beach under a warm early-autumn sun.
